Broncos Confirm FIVE Player Departures

The Brisbane Broncos have officially announced that five players will be leaving the club at the conclusion of the 2025 NRL season, with Kobe Hetherington being the latest addition to the exit list.

Hetherington, who was set to become a free agent at the end of 2025, has been linked to a potential transfer to the Manly Sea Eagles in recent weeks. Following his grand final appearance while nursing knee injuries, it now appears that this move is likely.

His departure was confirmed during the club's end-of-season awards night, where the Broncos also revealed the exit of Tyson Smoothy, Selwyn Cobbo, Jock Madden, and Israel Leota.

All four had already been speculated to leave: Smoothy is heading to the English Super League, Cobbo is transferring to the Dolphins, Madden is returning to the Wests Tigers after a challenging period at Red Hill, and Leota will be pursuing rugby union.

This situation raises questions about the futures of Fletcher Baker, Jack Gosiewski, and Delouise Hoeter, who are also off-contract at the end of 2025. However, none of them were included in the announced departures, leaving their future with the club uncertain.

Reports suggested that Baker was poised to exit after struggling to secure a consistent first-grade position, while Gosiewski was believed to be in discussions regarding a potential contract extension.

The status of Hoeter's future remains unclear.
