Brisbane Broncos Face Personnel Setbacks

Brisbane's troubles continue as they face a setback with Pat Carrigan potentially receiving a two-match suspension for a high tackle on Tom Chester.

The Broncos, already missing Reece Walsh and Ben Hunt due to injuries, were dealt another blow on Saturday when Carrigan received a grade-two charge from the match review committee.

Additionally, the team's hooker, Blake Mozer, fractured his jaw in Friday's defeat against North Queensland and will be sidelined for six weeks.

Carrigan has the option to contest his suspension; however, doing so could result in a longer absence if he is unsuccessful at the judiciary.

After the close match against North Queensland, which ended 35-31, Carrigan downplayed the seriousness of the tackle, stating it was merely a chest tackle.

His coach, Michael Maguire, echoed Carrigan's sentiment.

"It was chest," he remarked. "That's how I saw it. It is interesting because I thought it was a really good chest tackle."

Despite the disappointing outcome, Maguire noted that the team "really dug in for each other" amid "a fair bit of carnage."

The Broncos are set to face Wests Tigers and Canterbury in the upcoming two weeks.
