In a bid to uplift spirits in the wake of devastating floods in New South Wales, Yasmin Clydsdale, a teacher from a school in Scone, is rallying a busload of students to help set a new attendance record at the Women's State of Origin.

The Westpac NSW Blues are not only aiming to make history as the first women's team to achieve a 3-0 series clean sweep but also to offer support to flood victims during the series finale at Newcastle's McDonald Jones Stadium.

NSW prop Ellie Johnston, hailing from Coomba Park near Forster, expressed her gratitude that her family was spared from the floods.

"They are doing it tough," Johnston remarked, acknowledging the widespread devastation caused by record rainfall, especially in the Hunter Valley and mid-north coast.

She believes that the State of Origin can provide a much-needed distraction and sense of community for those affected by the tragic events.

The focus extends beyond just playing for victory; it's about bringing cheer to those facing hardships.
