In his second term as the NSW State of Origin coach, Laurie Daley wasted no time getting down to business by bringing together a 28-man squad of potential Blues players for a meet-and-greet session.
With months to go until the 2025 series, Daley used this gathering to lay the groundwork for future success, drawing on the winning foundations of the 2024 victory.
"The get together is all about setting the tone, outlining my expectations, and reinforcing the values that drive the success," Daley explained.
"I'll be looking out for certain qualities, aligning with Madge or perhaps taking a different approach.
Ultimately, it's about building those connections with the boys."
Unfortunately, some key players were unable to attend this important squad gathering, but Daley remains optimistic about the road ahead.
As they say in the world of Rugby League, it's all part of the game - setbacks and challenges only make the team stronger in the end.
