Blake's Future: A League of His Own?

Blake Taaffe, the utility back for the Canterbury Bulldogs, addressed his future as he approaches the end of his contract in 2025.

As one of seven players in the squad set to become off-contract this season, Taaffe has only made two first-grade appearances while primarily playing reserve-grade and supporting Connor Tracey.

Since joining from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, he has struggled to secure a consistent position in the NRL lineup, having played nearly 15 matches in the NSW Cup and frequently serving as the 18th or 19th man.

In an exclusive interview with Zero Tackle, Taaffe expressed his desire to remain at Belmore beyond 2025.

However, he acknowledged the business side of rugby league, understanding that his future with the Bulldogs is uncertain.

"Rugby league is a business," Taaffe stated, recognizing that he may not be with the Bulldogs much longer.

Despite this uncertainty, his young age and potential make him likely to attract interest from other teams if he does leave the Bulldogs.
