The Sharks are gearing up for a new debutant, with Billy Burns set to make his mark as Shark #559 in their upcoming clash against the Wests Tigers on Saturday night.

The young gun will be taking the field from the interchange bench, stepping up to fill the void left by Briton Nikora's suspension.

With 41 NRL games under his belt and coming from a background at the Parkes Spacemen, Burns has already shown his skill and versatility on the field.

After impressing for the Newtown feeder team in the NSW Cup, he is more than ready to take on the challenge of the NRL.

Coach Craig Fitzgibbon will have plenty of options with Burns, who can play in various positions including as an edge forward, in the middle, or even as a centre.

His adaptability and form make him a valuable addition to the Sharks lineup.

Despite only recently joining the club in the off-season, Burns has quickly settled in and embraced the culture of the Shire.

His enthusiasm and passion for the game were evident at the Sharks season launch, and fans can expect to see him bring that same energy to the field at Leichhardt Oval.
