Bennett's spine-tingling woes leave Rabbitohs reeling

In a recent update, South Sydney Rabbitohs head coach Wayne Bennett confirmed further injury setbacks for the team following their loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs.

The Rabbitohs are already dealing with a depleted squad, missing five-eighth Cody Walker and hooker Peter Mamouzelos due to injuries, in addition to Latrell Mitchell, who is away on State of Origin duty.

The situation worsened with injuries to Jayden Sullivan and Jye Gray, both likely sidelined in the upcoming weeks.

Bennett shared that Gray has a broken thumb, an injury sustained during halftime, and will be out for six weeks.

Furthermore, Sullivan suffered a calf injury.

Bennett noted, "He's [Jayden Sullivan] done on his calf muscle," and added, "Jye Gray's broken his thumb - that was at halftime - so he's gone for six weeks."

Additionally, Keaon Koloamatangi is suspected to have a fractured eye socket, forcing him to withdraw from the New South Wales Blues for Game 2 of the State of Origin.

Bennett commented on Koloamatangi's status, indicating that he "may have fractured his eye socket, so he'll be gone for a while too by the looks of it." The combination of these injuries presents a significant challenge for the Rabbitohs as they navigate the upcoming matches without key players.
