Brisbane City Hall hosted the Queensland Rugby League Awards on Thursday night, where Wayne Bennett received QRL Life Membership.
The honour recognises sustained and significant service to Rugby League in Queensland.
Bennett was inducted with Mal Meninga, Eddie Ward, Karyn Murphy, Bruce Hatcher and Des Morris.
Now South Sydney Rabbitohs head coach, Bennett has contributed to Queensland's game for more than 50 years.
His involvement began as a player and coach in the Brisbane Rugby League before he became one of the sport's most influential coaches.
His career has included coaching in the NRL, State of Origin and international Rugby League.
Although his work has taken him to the game's highest levels, Bennett's connection with Queensland has remained constant.
