Wayne Bennett, the master-coach of South Sydney Rabbitohs, has pledged to assist Latrell Mitchell in getting back on track amidst a recent scandal.
However, Bennett previously hinted that Mitchell "might have to leave" the club if they cannot resolve their issues.
Mitchell is currently facing a one-game suspension and fine from the NRL due to a controversial photo, although there is no evidence of illegal activity.
Both the NRL and South Sydney are set to impose sanctions on the star fullback, with Mitchell expected to meet with the club's board to discuss new behavioral requirements in his contract.
Unfortunately for Bennett, Mitchell will not be able to play for the remainder of the season and will start the next season serving his suspension.
Despite the setback, Bennett has expressed his commitment to helping Mitchell bounce back in 2025.
However, earlier this year, he made a cryptic remark suggesting that if there are any further issues, one of them may have to part ways.
The future of Mitchell at South Sydney remains uncertain, but Bennett's determination to support him remains steadfast.
