Bellamy's Surprise: Will Chan Center the Crisis?

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

In light of an injury crisis, Melbourne Storm head coach Craig Bellamy has suggested that Joe Chan might be considered for a centre position in the upcoming match.

This comes after Chan filled that role during the tail end of the Storm's recent victory against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, following Sua Fa'alogo's concussion caused by a high tackle from Latrell Mitchell.

Although Chan primarily plays as a second-rower, Bellamy expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting his adaptability as a utility player.

"I have been really happy with Joey Chan.

When Sua went off, he went in the centres.

He did it last week too.

For a guy that hasn't played in the centres before, he has done a good job," Bellamy noted.

He also remarked on the team's mentality during injuries, stating, "It makes it hard with key players, but when someone misses out, someone else gets a chance."

The situation presents a unique opportunity for Chan as the team navigates its current challenges.
