Bellamy Warns Players After Crushing Loss

‘Don’t have to be a brain surgeon’: Bellamy’s ‘reserve grade’ threat after Storm lose third straight

After the Storm's demoralizing 50-10 defeat to the Panthers, Craig Bellamy has sent a strong message to his players about improving their performance.

This loss marked a significant low for the team, being the first time they had surrendered 50 points since 2003 and equating to their largest deficit since the 2008 Grand Final against Manly.

Bellamy made it clear that he won't show leniency in light of this performance.

"We just go a little bit harder," he emphasized.

His approach suggests that if players are unwilling to elevate their game, they risk being relegated to reserve grade. "If they don't want to go harder, well, they can go and play in reserve grade and bring some young blokes up, so that's how we always handle these situations," he added.

Bellamy pointed out that the team needs to learn from this setback and improve moving forward. "We've just got to learn from tonight and just be better, that's all," he remarked.

The coach highlighted a particular area of concern: their defense. "The disappointing thing for me was the defence," he stated.

He concluded with a memorable note on the basics of defending: "You don't have to be a brain surgeon, to be a good defender. You just need to work hard and be determined."
