Emily Bass, having played at the NRL Vegas 9s to maintain her fitness, received an unexpected opportunity from Wests Tigers coach Brett Kimmorley to join the NRLW.
Despite her impactful performance for Queensland in Origin III, Bass was initially set to begin the season in Queensland's BMD Premiership due to the absence of an NRLW contract.
While preparing with the Brisbane Tigers and hoping for an NRLW spot later in the season, she found herself joining the Tigers earlier than anticipated.
As a result, Bass moved to Sydney, leaving her job in Brisbane to fully dedicate herself to her rugby league career.
