Australia face the Cook Islands in Townsville on Saturday, with Kevin Walters weighing which of James Tedesco and Reece Walsh should play fullback.
The Kangaroos captain excelled in Sunday night's 36-22 win over Fiji at Suncorp Stadium, setting up three tries and contributing to two others.
Australia scored six tries, but its right-edge defence struggled and Fiji's pack dominated.
Walsh had starred in Australia's opening 24-22 victory over New Zealand, while Jack Bostock scored three tries.
The choice also looms ahead of Australia's semi-final at Allianz Stadium on November 8, with both players essentially fullbacks.
"It is a great situation to be in to have two of the best fullbacks in the game available for us," Walters said.
"They just keep producing. We will have a chat and there are a few decisions to made around that for next week."
"I am just grateful we have got both in the squad."
Walters said Walsh had been among Australia's best against New Zealand and Tedesco was one of its best against Fiji.
"His work in attack was very good, and defensively. He is world-class," Walters said of Tedesco.
Tedesco said he wanted to play fullback but would take any position Walters needed him to fill.
Walters said Australia needed more from everyone after an uneven display, adding: "There is a lot of honesty within the group and, without going too much into it, we know we can be better."
