At 21, Jesse Southwell says her older sister Hannah has helped her stay grounded and keep learning as her profile has grown.
The Australian Jillaroos star has earned major honours and represented both the NSW Blues and Jillaroos, but says she does not feel pressure to keep meeting expectations.
"I don't really feel it, to be honest. In my family, you've got to be humble or you will look like an idiot in my family," Southwell said ahead of Australia's clash against Wales.
She pointed to watching Hannah as a guide to how she should carry herself.
"Coming from watching Hannah do things at a very young age, you just kind of watch what she does and how she carried herself. I just tried to learn from her and there are so many young talented girls coming through now. You've got to continue to learn and try to get better because, at the end of the day, if you're not, then you're going to stay where you are and you don't want to do that."
Southwell views each opportunity as a chance to develop and says she has not yet become the player she hopes to be.
