Braith Anasta has expressed his frustration towards St George Illawarra Dragons Chairman Andrew Lancaster, following an indirect remark directed at him and the press earlier today.
On Monday morning, Lancaster criticized the media for their portrayal of the club and former head coach Shane Flanagan, as the Dragons struggle to secure a win at the start of the current season.
Though names weren't mentioned, it is widely believed that Lancaster was referencing Anasta, particularly regarding discussions about the club's controversies on NRL 360.
"There has been a lot of media coverage of the Dragons over these past few weeks. A lot of it absolutely deserved. Some of it poor, and some of it about personal agendas," Lancaster stated during a press conference where he announced Flanagan's exit.
"I've been in media longer than most. the coverage of this great game, of this great club, should be better."
Anasta's response underscores his commitment to addressing the issues surrounding the team, emphasizing that accountability is crucial, especially in challenging times for the club.
In light of Lancaster's comments, Anasta's defense highlights the importance of robust journalism in shedding light on the struggles faced by the Dragons.
