'Bloody ripper news out of Las Vegas mate! Allegiant Stadium is set to put poor old Canberra Stadium to shame,' said Canberra Raiders chief executive Don Furner, as reported by canberratimes.com.au.

'The lack of a flashy new stadium is going to make it tough for us to impress the crowds, especially after we cop an eyeful of the glitz and glam at this $3 billion venue.'

Furner is chuffed about the opportunities Allegiant Stadium presents for the Green Machine, with its flashy lights shows and top-notch facilities.

'We're talking about a stadium that's decked out like something straight out of Sin City - it's going to blow the usual home games out of the water,' he added.

One of the main concerns at Canberra Stadium is the dodgy lighting, with Furner joking that he's worried the lights might not come back on if they ever switched them off.

But at Allegiant Stadium, that won't be an issue.

The Green Machine will kick off their NRL season against the New Zealand Warriors in what promises to be an absolute corker of a match.

Furner had a taste of the stadium's magic last year during the NRL's first Vegas venture and is looking forward to experiencing it again with his Raiders leading the charge in the 2025 season.

Allegiant Stadium, the most expensive stadium in the world when it was built, boasts a retractable roof and even a rollout field - allowing them to move the grass playing surface in and out of the sun as needed.

'It's out of this world mate, and we can't wait to show off the skills on that spectacular stage,' Furner added with a grin.
