Ben Hunt and Adam Reynolds, the NRL's oldest halves pairing, have made a strong impression in their first match together for the Broncos.
Despite only training together for three weeks and having limited game time in the pre-season, the duo led Brisbane to a dominant 50-12 victory over the Sydney Roosters.
Hunt, who recently returned to the Broncos after seven years with the Dragons, and Reynolds, now in his fourth season in Brisbane, showed promise with Reynolds providing two try assists and Hunt finishing a remarkable backline movement for a standout try.
The pair have expressed confidence in their partnership, with Hunt stating, "We're only going to get better," and Reynolds echoing his sentiments by predicting their combination will continue to improve.
This pairing is not only significant for the Broncos but also for the NRL as a whole, as they are the oldest halves pairing since Des Hasler and Cliff Lyons played for Manly in 1996.
The success of Hunt and Reynolds bodes well for the Broncos under new coach Michael Maguire, confirming their potential and signaling a promising season ahead.
