In a move that has fans cheering in the stands and opponents shaking in their boots, former NRL fullback for the Canberra Raiders and Penrith Panthers, Caleb Aekins, has inked a new contract to keep him on the rugby league field.
After his last thrilling season in the NRL in 2021, Aekins has decided to keep the ball rolling overseas by signing a lucrative two-year extension with the Featherstone Rovers, a Championship club that has been making waves in the league.
With 12 solid matches under his belt for the Penrith Panthers from 2018-2020 and another seven for the Canberra Raiders in 2021, Aekins made the bold move from New Zealand to Australia to pursue his rugby league dreams.
A key player in Penrith's heartbreak in the 2020 NRL Grand Final, Aekins may not have seen action in the NRL Finals series, but he certainly made his mark with three impressive international caps for Wales since 2022.
"I'm stoked to be staying with Featherstone.
I've had a ripper time here for the past two seasons and I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for us," Aekins proudly declared in a statement that surely had fans cheering.
