It seems the competition among three clubs for Adam Elliott's signature has concluded, as the former Newcastle Knights forward is poised to continue his NRL journey with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Elliott, known as one of the league's most underrated and reliable players, can fill the roles of lock or hooker. Unfortunately, he wasn't offered a new contract by the Knights at the end of the 2025 season.

The Knights are currently overhauling their roster and salary cap in an attempt to improve their standings under coach Justin Holbrook as they head into 2026.

Throughout the year, Elliott has drawn interest from the Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons. However, the South Sydney Rabbitohs have also been pursuing him.

News Corp has reported that an offer from the Rabbitohs is on the table, and Elliott may sign with the club in the near future.

The proposed deal is a one-year, cost-effective contract, as South Sydney's salary cap is tight following the recent acquisition of David Fifita after he was released by the Gold Coast Titans.

Elliott still needs to clear a medical with the Rabbitohs but has already toured the club's facilities.
