Since 1935, the Canterbury-Bankstown Rugby League Football Club has been an integral part of south-west Sydney communities.

The team's journey started on April 25, 1935, with a match against North Sydney at North Sydney Oval.

Despite initial struggles, success soon followed with a recruitment drive in 1936 and the opening of Belmore Oval, their home ground.

This led to a finals finish and, just two years later, the Bulldogs were crowned NSWRFL Premiers under the leadership of Captain Alan Brady.

The 1940s saw the team achieve more success with players like Roy Kirkaldy, Henry Porter, and Eddie Burns leading the Bulldogs to another Premiership in 1942 by defeating St George in the Grand Final.

However, the following decades were filled with challenges until the addition of Kevin Ryan and Les Johns in the 1960s brought the team back to prominence.

In 1967, they made their first Grand Final appearance in 20 years, showcasing their fighting spirit and determination.

The Bulldogs' rich history is a testament to the resilience and passion of everyone involved with the club over the past 90 years.

The team's success on the field, especially during challenging times, has endeared them to their fans and solidified their place in the rugby league community.

As the Bulldogs continue to make their mark in the sport, they carry with them the legacy of those who have come before them and the pride of representing their unique and diverse communities.

In celebrating their 90-year journey, the Bulldogs remain committed to upholding their values and traditions while looking towards a future filled with even more success and achievements.

Their story is a reminder that with hard work, dedication, and a never-say-die attitude, anything is possible.

The Bulldogs' history is a source of inspiration and pride for not only their supporters but for all those who appreciate the passion and spirit of rugby league.
