Zac Lomax's Storm Move Blocked in Unexpected NRL Twist
Zac Lomax's bold attempt to transition to Melbourne has been thwarted, as the talented winger has accepted that his NRL destiny is tied to former club Parramatta for the next two years.
In a surprising conclusion to the off-season's most talked-about saga, the Storm and Eels came to an out-of-court agreement on Tuesday, granting Parramatta the authority to decide if Lomax can make a return to the NRL prior to 2028.
The Storm will incur $250,000 in legal fees owed to Parramatta after their unsuccessful effort to recruit Lomax, who had previously pledged not to join an NRL competitor when the Eels released him to join R360 in 2025.
As the launch of the controversial rugby competition was delayed, Lomax began making moves to join the Storm, prompting Parramatta to take legal action in the NSW Supreme Court.
However, a settlement was reached before the commencement of a full hearing, which was scheduled to start on Monday.
Lomax did not appear in court on Tuesday, but he will at least be eligible to return to the NRL for the 2028 season, marking the end of his Eels contract.
