Australia and NSW Blues winger Zac Lomax may have played his last match for the Parramatta Eels following the approval of the rebel rugby union competition, R360, on Tuesday.
Lomax, who is one of ten NRL players associated with the breakaway R360, has faced uncertainty regarding his future for several months, despite being under contract with the Eels until 2028 due to a four-year deal he signed last year.
However, more clarity about his future is expected in the coming weeks. R360 has now received the green light, and player agents have been informed that funding has been arranged to support three years of competition from 2026 to 2028, according to News Corp.
During a segment on NRL 360, Braith Anasta discussed the swirling rumors surrounding Lomax's potential exit, suggesting that there is a "big chance" he may have played his last game for the Eels.
"There have been rumours around (Ryan) Papenhuyzen and Nelson Asofa-Solomona," Anasta stated. "I've been doing (a) bit of digging around and talking to people, and I heard a rumour today that Zac Lomax is about to sign a deal with them (R360) and there is a big chance he's played his last game for Parramatta."
According to News Corp, Lomax has already communicated his interest in transitioning to the 15-man game and pursuing an opportunity with R360.
