Zac Lomax Tied to New Rugby Competition

Former NSW Blues and Parramatta Eels winger Zac Lomax is reportedly linked to a new competition in the 15-man rugby code, distinct from the controversial rebel league R360.

After receiving an immediate release from his contract with the Eels on Sunday, many speculate that Lomax could be one of the first players to join R360. However, the implications of joining that league include a potential ten-year ban, making Lomax's decision crucial.

Should he opt for another competition within the 15-man code, Lomax could return to play for the Eels until 2028 and then switch to another club in 2029.

While he has been linked to R360 for several months, reports from The Sydney Morning Herald indicate that Lomax is instead exploring opportunities in France's Top 14 rugby union competition.

Although there's no assurance he will secure a contract with any Top 14 team, Lomax has already engaged a prominent French rugby union agent to assist in his pursuit.

This decision aligns with remarks from his NRL manager, Clinton Schifcofske, who confirmed that they have pulled out of negotiations with R360 out of concern for the potential ten-year ban that would accompany a move to that league.
