Zac Lomax Meets Perth Club Amid Future Talks

Released Parramatta Eels winger Zac Lomax is exploring new opportunities as he meets with a Perth-based club amidst a delay of the rebel rugby union competition, R360.

Currently evaluating his career options, the NSW Blues player has garnered interest in boxing, MMA (mixed martial arts), and various rugby union competitions across Australia, Europe, and Japan. However, he has not yet finalized his future plans.

Despite the likelihood of earning a much lower salary than his previous contract with the Eels, reports confirm that he visited Western Australia to tour the facilities of the Super Rugby team, the Western Force. "Zac is in Perth to visit the club and meet key people. He's a standout athlete with significant potential," a Force spokesman stated to The Age.

Being one of the primary targets of R360, along with notable players like Payne Haas and Ryan Papenhuyzen, a move to the Force would position Lomax to compete in the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific competition and potentially represent Australia at the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Additionally, it appears that the Force is not the only team interested in Lomax; The Canberra Times has reported that the ACT Brumbies have also expressed initial interest in the Kangaroos star. The Brumbies recently secured Len Ikitau and NRL-linked Tane Edmed, reinforcing their search for talent.

"The Wallabies would look at him, for sure. Not too many blokes in the current squad have put up their hands. There are spots available," commented former cross-code international Lote Tuqiri to Code Sports.
