Young's Roosters Release: Knights or Just Another Pass?

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

Dominic Young, the Sydney Roosters winger, has officially been released from his contract at Bondi after a tumultuous stint.

Initially signed for four years before the 2024 season, Young's time with the Roosters lasted only 18 months.

During his tenure, he impressed with his scoring ability, netting 26 tries in 31 games.

However, issues with his defense and ball handling did not meet coach Trent Robinson's expectations.

Amid persistent rumors and the Roosters' return to full strength in their back five, Young was demoted to reserve grade, particularly ahead of the Anzac Day match against the St.

George Illawarra Dragons.

His subsequent alignment with the Newcastle Knights emerged swiftly, following a brief period of further play with the Roosters, including a game against the Knights where the Roosters secured a contentious victory with a late try.

With Young's release, speculation solidifies around his move back to his former club, Newcastle Knights.
