Young Star Considers Future Amid Contract Talks

Origin star set for $3m monster payday; Veteran weighs up overseas move — Whispers

NSW Blues standout Hudson Young is considering his future after the Canberra Raiders offered the back-rower a substantial contract extension worth millions.

Negotiations between the Raiders and Young have been ongoing since May, and if no agreement is reached before November 1, he is likely to become one of the top targets in the open market.

With the potential threat of the PNG Chiefs emerging within the NRL, the Raiders are eager to retain Young, showing no interest in losing him.

Currently, Young makes around $650,000 each season, but he is poised for a considerable salary boost that would rank him among the league's highest-paid edge forwards.

This prospective deal arrives as the NRL salary cap is projected to exceed $15 million by 2028.
