NSW captain Isaah Yeo has the opportunity to join an elite group of State of Origin skippers by leading the Blues to victory over Queensland in the decider next week.

According to nrl.com.au, only three NSW captains have lifted the trophy at Accor Stadium, and Yeo aims to become the fourth and the second in 20 years.

The first to achieve this was Brad Fittler, who led the Blues to a 3-0 whitewash in 2000.

Danny Buderus followed with a 36-14 win in the 2004 decider, and most recently, James Tedesco famously scored a last-minute try to secure the shield for NSW in 2019.

While Yeo is excited about the chance to join this exclusive club, he emphasizes that the upcoming match is about much more than an individual accolade.
