NSW State of Origin skipper Isaah Yeo is being praised by Paul Gallen, who has called him "one of the greatest locks of all time" as Yeo prepares to captain the Blues in the 2025 series opener.

According to abc.net.au, Yeo is set to lead NSW against Queensland for the first time on Wednesday night at Lang Park.

The four-time Penrith premiership winner, who also serves as captain of the Australian team, has the opportunity to achieve one of the few remaining milestones in his career-leading NSW to a successful Origin campaign.

Entering Origin I, the Blues are favored to defend their shield.

Gallen reflected on Yeo's impact, stating, "He (Yeo) will be remembered as one of the greats and he deserves it.

He is brilliant." Gallen added that while Yeo is often recognized as a ball-playing lock, he possesses much more depth in his skill set.
