Yasmin Clydsdale, a back-rower for the Newcastle Blues, is advocating for Newcastle to become a permanent venue for the Women's State of Origin to honor the passionate local fans.

According to nrl.com.au, a crowd of 21,912 braved rainy weather at McDonald Jones Stadium to watch Queensland secure an 18-14 victory over NSW, thereby preventing a 3-0 series clean sweep.

This match followed last year's Women's Origin record of 25,782 attendees who faced even more severe weather conditions during Game Two, where the Maroons leveled the series with an 11-10 win.

Despite the disappointment of not completing the sweep, Clydsdale emphasized that the Blues would celebrate their first Origin series win before returning to their NRLW clubs.
