Bronson Xerri's camp has conveyed a clear message regarding his future.
Following reports of Xerri's dissatisfaction at Canterbury that stirred the rugby league community, his agent, George Christodoulou, aimed to clarify the situation.
Christodoulou emphasized that Xerri's immediate future lies with the Bulldogs and argued that requesting a release would not be beneficial for a player eager to demonstrate his worth.
Recent events provided a fresh start.
Xerri had breakfast with Bulldogs' head Phil Gould at Belmore, a meeting which Christodoulou arranged in an effort to address any concerns.
"I think it's in Bronson's best interest; he needs to react positively," Christodoulou remarked in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald.
He added, "To be an elite NRL player, you can't kick stones."
Christodoulou expressed his desire not to provide an easy way out for the young athlete, stating, "I don't want to offer a soft option out for the kid [by asking for a release]."
He encouraged Xerri to concentrate on his game, training, and performance, saying, "He needs to put his best foot forward and focus on his game, his training, and his performances."
In conclusion, he asserted, "It's not the right option to be trying to find an exit. As it is now, he'll just be playing on and trying to find his way back into first grade."
While Christodoulou left the door slightly ajar for a potential release request, he emphasized that this path remains untraveled.
