Gold Coast Titans coach Karyn Murphy emphasizes the necessity of developing coaching pathways to increase the presence of female coaches in NRLW teams.

According to nrl.com.au, Murphy is currently the only woman leading an NRLW side, with Luisa Avaiki being the only other female to have served as a head coach.

However, there is a rising number of women in assistant coaching roles, including Alicia-Kate Hawke at the Knights, Kate Mullaly at the Eels, and Mel Sperro at the Roosters.

Reflecting on her experiences, Murphy notes the significant evolution in opportunities for women in coaching since her playing days and expresses confidence that more women will eventually join her as head coaches.
