Former dual-code England international and rugby league star, Sam Burgess, has been appointed as the head coach of Warrington Wolves starting from the 2024 season.
Burgess, who earned 24 England and two Great Britain caps, is widely recognized for his achievements in the National Rugby League, where he secured the title with South Sydney in 2014.
Despite retiring early due to injury, the 34-year-old has already gained coaching experience at Orara Valley and with the Rabbitohs.
In the meantime, interim boss Gary Chambers will lead the Wire for the current season before transitioning into a director of rugby role.
Speaking about his new position, Burgess expressed his admiration for the Wire, describing it as an "incredible club," and emphasized that his return to the Super League is a "full-circle moment."
