Ty Williams, one of the greatest try scorers in North Queensland Cowboys history, has returned to the club to mentor the next generation of female rugby league players.
As reported by cowboys.com.au, Williams, who played 151 games for the Cowboys and scored 85 tries, has taken on the role of NRLW Senior Assistant and Development Coach of Women's Elite Pathways.
A North Queensland native hailing from Innisfail, Williams is enthusiastic about driving the Cowboys' strategic plan for women's pathway development in the region.
His responsibilities will include coach education, player development, and building a talent pool to feed into the Cowboys NRLW program.
Williams will also serve as Head Coach Ricky Henry's senior assistant for the NRLW team.
Having transitioned into coaching following his playing career, Williams brings valuable experience to his new role.
He previously served as the Head Coach of the Northern Pride's Queensland Cup side, showcasing his leadership skills and dedication to developing players.
