Will Warbrick has come a long way from his rugby league tryout in New Zealand as a teenager to now being on the verge of the NRL grand final.

His journey has taken him through multiple sporting codes, including AFL and rugby union, before finally landing in Melbourne with the NRL contract he had always dreamed of.

The 26-year-old Kiwi has shown incredible versatility and adaptability, becoming an Olympian in Tokyo before focusing on his rugby league career with the Storm.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties of the Covid-impacted Games, Warbrick remains unfazed and ready to take on the big stage of Sunday's grand final.

The Storm recruiters deserve credit for recognizing Warbrick's potential and molding him into a scoring force on the rugby league field.

His AFL background has complemented his abilities, especially in the air, making him a valuable asset for the team.

As he gears up for the grand final showdown against Penrith, Warbrick is staying grounded and treating it like any other game.

Reflecting on his journey and the lessons learned from coaches in three different codes, he is determined to make the most of this opportunity on the biggest stage of his NRL career.

"It's just another game," Warbrick says, as he remembers his humble beginnings in that representative rugby league tournament in New Zealand.

But now, he is ready to showcase his skills and prove himself on the grand final stage, where he truly belongs.
