Former Broncos coach Kevin Walters is being considered as a potential candidate to replace Des Hasler as the Titans' coach if Hasler fails to improve the team's performance.
Currently, the Titans sit at the bottom of the NRL ladder with only two wins this season, following a disappointing 38-18 loss to the Bulldogs during Magic Round.
The Courier Mail reports that Hasler is under significant pressure, facing performance clauses that could lead to his dismissal if the team does not reach the top eight.
Walters, who was let go by the Broncos after a failure to secure a top-eight finish last year, previously led the team to the 2023 grand final.
His departure left many Broncos old boys dissatisfied.
Following his exit, Walters transitioned into a commentary role at Fox Sports, where he shares his insights during broadcasts.
According to reports, Foxtel executives are supportive of his potential return to coaching and won't obstruct his opportunities.
Walters' manager, Chris Orr, confirmed that Walters is eager to return to coaching.
"Kevvie definitely wants to coach again," Orr stated.
"The day Kevvie finished up at the Broncos, he wasn't done as an NRL coach.
He always wanted to come back as an NRL coach and he believes he has more to offer in that regard." This enthusiasm for a coaching return reinforces the possibility of Walters stepping in if the Titans part ways with Hasler, depending on how the situation unfolds over the coming weeks.
