Leigh Leopards have made a significant signing by securing the services of former Wigan Warriors centre Oliver Gildart on a short-term deal.
Gildart, who recently returned from a two-year stint in Australia, where he played for Wests Tigers, Sydney Roosters, and the Dolphins in the NRL, will now join the Leopards until the end of the 2023 Super League season.
The 26-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the team, having won two Super League titles with Wigan in 2016 and 2018.
His arrival is timely as he will provide cover for the injured Ricky Leutele.
Although Gildart has already agreed to a three-year deal with Leigh's Challenge Cup final opponents, which will commence in 2024, he will unfortunately be unable to feature in the final due to registration restrictions.
Nevertheless, his addition to the Leopards' squad is sure to bolster their chances in the Super League this season.
