Rhodri Jones, managing director of RL Commercial, expressed optimism about the return of the Magic Weekend to Newcastle next season.

Following a successful event at St James' Park, where over 64,000 tickets were sold for six Super League matches, Jones said, "They were disappointed we weren't here last year so they are delighted we're here and they want us to come back as well." This year marked the event's return to Newcastle for the eighth time, having moved to Leeds United's Elland Road the previous year.

Jones noted that discussions with Newcastle United Football Club are in an advanced stage, stating, "We are in advanced talks...

there'll be an element of time where we just have to wait for a couple of things to drop in, but we're quietly confident we'll be back here next year."
