Will Hasler's Contract Clip His Coaching Wings?

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

Des Hasler's tenure with the Gold Coast Titans may end sooner than anticipated due to previously undisclosed clauses in his contract.

Reporting from zerotackle.com highlights that, two years into his three-year deal, Hasler has struggled significantly since taking over from Justin Holbrook.

With a mere 31 percent winning record-ten wins from 32 matches-his performance has been disappointing, including only two victories in the first eight games of the 2025 NRL season.

Amidst these challenges, there are rumors surrounding key player David Fifita being considered for transfer to rival teams.

According to News Corp, the Titans have the option to terminate Hasler's contract at the end of the season if he fails to lead the team into the top eight.

Notably, this termination clause can be enacted without any financial penalties, allowing the club to avoid covering the remainder of his salary for the 2026 season.
