Wilkin's Devil of a Complaint: Salford Squad Selection

Salford Red Devils: Jon Wilkin slams Super League club for 'embarrassing' game with 'irresponsible' squad selection

In a fiery post-match analysis, Jon Wilkin from Sky Sports Rugby League has come out swinging at Salford Red Devils for their "embarrassing" display and "irresponsible" squad selection that led to a brutal 82-0 thrashing by St Helens.

The Rugby Football League (RFL) has now launched an investigation into the club's decision to put out a reserve squad for the game, a move that has raised eyebrows across the rugby league community.

"It's a right mess," Wilkin told Sky Sports News.

"Salford have been playing with fire for a while now.

They've had some cash flow issues, had to pass around the hat for crowdfunding, and even begged for TV money to keep their heads above water.

"But let's be honest here, Salford have been living on borrowed time.

The RFL had no choice but to step in and slap them with a sustainability cap.

They were basically told 'cut your costs or face the consequences'."

With talk of potential sanctions looming over Salford, it's clear that the Red Devils are in for a tough road ahead.

Will they be able to bounce back from this embarrassing defeat, or will they continue to struggle against the odds? Only time will tell in this game of highs and lows, twists and turns.
