Wigan Warriors have made history by securing the Women's Super League Leaders' Shield for the first time, thanks to a thrilling 24-20 victory against St Helens.

According to skysports.com, the match featured the first and second place teams in a women's and men's Super League double-header at the Totally Wicked Stadium, where Wigan and St Helens competed fiercely for the top spot in the regular season.

Throughout the match, momentum swung back and forth. Wigan took an early lead when Jenna Foubister capitalized on a grubber kick from Rachel Rowe.

St Helens quickly countered via a handling error, allowing Chantelle Crowl to equalize. They then took the lead for the first time with a score from Dani McGifford, but Wigan answered back with a try from Anna Davies following a strong break by Mia Atherton.

Despite Wigan's efforts, Rachel Woosey's try allowed St Helens to go into halftime with a lead, while Georgia Wilson's impressive dummy and finish just before the break narrowed the score to 16-14 in favor of St Helens.

The second half kicked off with high energy as Grace Banks powered over for Wigan, regaining the lead. However, Phoebe Hook's try once again brought Saints back to level terms.
