Wigan Warriors have announced that Leigh Leopards will not participate in the scheduled Super League semi-final this Friday due to a disagreement over ticket allocation.

According to reports from skysports.com, Wigan received a formal notification from Leigh owner Derek Beaumont on Tuesday night, indicating that his club would withdraw from the match.

Leigh had the option of receiving either 4,600 or 5,400 tickets for their fans at the 25,000-capacity Brick Community Stadium, a number significantly exceeding the minimum 10 percent requirement set by Wigan. Despite this, Wigan claims that Leigh expressed dissatisfaction with the allocated tickets.

The RFL and Leigh Leopards have been approached for comments regarding the situation.

Wigan's official statement noted, "At 10.37pm on Tuesday September 30, the club was informed in writing by Derek Beaumont of Leigh Leopards that they do not intend to fulfil this Friday's scheduled semi-final fixture."
