Wigan secured a crucial 24-18 victory against Warrington, moving within two points of the Betfred Super League lead. The match took place on Friday, where the champions initially trailed by two at halftime.

Driven by an exceptional performance from winger Zach Eckersley, Wigan rallied in the second half, scoring four tries and further damaging Warrington's dwindling playoff aspirations. Eckersley contributed significantly, scoring one try and assisting Jack Farrimond and Liam Farrell with theirs.

Brad O'Neill managed to score Wigan's only try in the first half, while Farrimond capitalized on a mishap by Warrington late in the match for a second score. Harry Smith successfully converted two goals, adding to their tally.

This result raises concerns for Warrington, especially following the absence of full-back Matt Dufty, who was reportedly left out by coach Sam Burgess for disciplinary reasons. Veteran Stefan Ratchford stepped in as replacement, but he and the Wolves' defense faced considerable pressure from Wigan during the game's early stages.
