The Wests Tigers have made another addition to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. Following their recruitment of Under-19s QLD Maroons five-eighth Javon Andrews from the Gold Coast Titans, the Tigers have signed promising young playmaker Ryder Huth from the Western Clydesdales, who compete in the Queensland reserve-grade competition.
As the team builds for the future and copes with the loss of Marc Tannous to the Cronulla Sharks, they have secured Huth, who is recognized as a "natural leader" with "strong communication skills." Although the specifics of his contract have not been disclosed, he is expected to play in the NSW Cup competition starting in 2026.
During the 2025 QLD Cup season, Huth started at five-eighth, competing in six of the first seven rounds for the Clydesdales. He also appeared in four additional matches, taking on roles as either a fullback or halfback before the season concluded.
Having scored one try, Huth previously played for the Central Queensland Capras in both the Cyril Connell and Mal Meninga Cup junior representative competitions. He is certainly a player to watch as he continues his development in the coming years.
