Wests Tigers represented across seven nations

Big weekend for Wests Tigers internationals

Losana Lutu has developed as a playmaker and will help lead Fiji at its first Women's Rugby League World Cup, Wests Tigers Head of Women's Football Charmain Steventon said.

The 2026 tournament also features Kezie Apps, Shaylee Bent and Sarah Togatuki for Australia; Raecene McGregor, captain, and Shaniece Monschau for New Zealand; and Jetaya Faifua and Christian Pio for Samoa.

Wests Tigers staff are also involved: Craig Sandercock and Sa Patiole coach Papua New Guinea's Orchids, Richmond Saliba works in high performance for Lebanon, Belinda Paris is a physiotherapist with PNG, and David Fauonuku is an assistant coach for Tonga.

Steventon said Sandercock and Patiole's partnership reflected the calibre of the club's women's program and its responsibility to support the game's growth.

"Sandy and Sa have been an awesome coaching combination for us, so to see them take that partnership into the PNG Orchids environment is something we're really proud of."

She praised Saliba's standards, physical preparation and investment in players, adding that representing Lebanon, given his Lebanese background, was personally meaningful to him.

Steventon called Paris professional and thorough in rehabilitation, saying players trusted her care and that the PNG role would offer valuable experience.

She was proud that "Sala and Shaylee" earned Jillaroos selection after missing NSW State of Origin selection, working hard and producing strong NRLW seasons.

Steventon also highlighted Monschau's development and versatility, and said she looked forward to seeing Wests Tigers teammates represent their flags, families and cultures as opponents during the tournament.
