Wests Tigers achieved their first win of the 2025 NRLW season, defeating the Dragons 16-12 in Round 7, as reported by weststigers.com.au.
After a sustained offensive push against the Dragons, Wests Tigers opened the scoring with Jetaya Faifua's debut five-eighth try, showcasing her agility.
With Emily Bass successfully converting, the Tigers led 6-0. They also enjoyed a one-player advantage for the next ten minutes after Hannah Southwell was sin-binned for a spear tackle on debutant Portia Bourke.
Though the Dragons nearly scored in the 15th minute, Teagan Berry's knock-on prior to the attempt nullified it.
Shortly after, Caitlin Turnbull saved a try on Berry, but Zali Hopkins capitalized on a grubber kick from Raecene McGregor, putting the Dragons on the scoreboard.
A near-breakthrough by Turnbull in the 23rd minute led to another Wests Tigers try, as Faifua capitalized on a long-range run by skipper Kezie Apps to score her second.
Bass's successful conversion extended the Tigers' lead to 16-6 at halftime.
Though Turnbull came close to scoring again shortly after the break, it was the Dragons who struck next, with Tori Shipton crossing for a try.
