Warriors coach Andrew Webster has expressed confidence in Shaun Johnson's ability to play in Saturday night's game against the Knights.
The decision on Johnson's fitness will be made on Friday.
The team's official website, warriors.kiwi, has reported on Webster's statement.
Webster stated that if Johnson can successfully complete Friday's captain's run in Auckland, he will be included in the lineup for the game at Go Media Stadium.
Webster did not disclose his backup plan in case Johnson is not declared fit, but it is likely that Dylan Walker and Te Maire Martin would fill in as the halves combination, as they did in last week's loss against the Panthers.
Reserve-grade halfback Ronald Volkman was not included in the 22-man squad on Tuesday and instead will play for North Sydney in the NSW Cup finals on Saturday.
