Warriors head coach Andrew Webster has come out swinging to defend his decision to keep Shaun Johnson on the field after he suffered a pec injury in their recent clash against the Roosters.

The veteran playmaker took a hit from Roosters player Luke Keary, causing some serious discomfort.

Webster described the halftime chat with Johnson as a "tough conversation," where Johnson insisted on soldiering on despite the pain.

Johnson toughed it out for 68 minutes before finally being benched, and Webster admitted uncertainty about his availability for the next game against Penrith.

"I don't know if he's good for next week," Webster told the press.

"He showed true grit out there, but it was a battle."

It's a tough blow for the Warriors, who will be holding their breath to see if Johnson can recover in time for the next game.

But in the world of Rugby League, injuries are just another part of the game that players must face head-on.

It's all about resilience, determination, and the old adage of playing through the pain.

But whether Johnson will be fit to hit the field next week remains to be seen.

The sport is unpredictable like that.
