In an announcement that has sent shockwaves through the world of Rugby League, New South Wales Blues coach Michael Maguire has unveiled his 20-player squad for Game Two of the Ampol State of Origin series, set to take place in Melbourne on June 26.
The team sees the return of Latrell Mitchell, the Rabbitohs' powerhouse, who is primed for his first Origin appearance since 2021.
Mitchell will be stepping into the centres to fill the void left by the suspended Joseph Sua'ali'i, bringing his trademark flair and skill to the squad.
Adding to the excitement are a number of fresh faces joining the Blues' ranks.
Connor Watson, Dylan Edwards, Mitchell Moses, and Cameron Murray have all been called up as New South Wales aims to even the score at 1-1 against Queensland.
Watson, in particular, is set to make his debut, earning a spot on the bench in place of Hudson Young.
Meanwhile, Murray will be slotting in for Sharks' lock Cameron McInnes, bringing a new dynamic to the team.
Moses and Edwards are also stepping up to the plate, taking over from Nicho Hynes and James Tedesco, respectively.
Moses, who had been sidelined with a foot injury for two months leading up to Game One, was initially ruled out by the coaching staff.
However, he has now been given the green light to showcase his talents on the Origin stage.
Edwards, on the other hand, missed the series opener due to a quad strain but is ready to make his mark in his Origin debut.
With these new additions injecting fresh energy into the squad, the Blues are gearing up for a fierce showdown in Melbourne.
As the countdown to Game Two begins, fans can expect nothing less than a thrilling display of grit, determination, and top-notch Rugby League action from the New South Wales team.
