In a devastating blow for the New Zealand Warriors, winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak will undergo surgery following a nasty fracture and dislocation of his left wrist during Friday night's Preseason Challenge showdown against Cronulla Sutherland in Sydney.
The incident occurred early on in the game, just eight minutes in, as Watene-Zelezniak was bundled into touch by Cronulla's William Kennedy and Kayal Iro, leaving Warriors fans holding their breath.
As the team waits anxiously for a timeline on Watene-Zelezniak's return, they also faced further setbacks with centres Adam Pompey and Rocco Berry, along with halfback Tanah Boyd, all ruled out for the Warriors' last Preseason Challenge battle against Melbourne at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton on Saturday.
