In a valiant display, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles battled fiercely until the very end, but unfortunately fell short with a 29-22 loss to the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland.

Despite trailing 16-6 early on, the Sea Eagles showed great determination and managed to take a 22-16 lead into halftime thanks to some impressive tries.

Winger Jason Saab, who has been a standout for the club since joining in 2021, achieved his third hat-trick for Manly in this match.

Additionally, full-back Reuben Garrick made history by surpassing Ron Willey to claim fifth place on the record list for Most Points scored for the Sea Eagles.

The Sea Eagles began the game on a high note with new five-eighth Jakob Arthur scoring a try next to the posts, capitalizing on a mistake made by the Warriors early in the game.

However, the Warriors quickly responded with a try of their own, bringing the scoreline level at 6-all.
